Founded in 1898, The Geographic Society of Chicago (GSC) is interested in geography-related issues of local, national and international scope.  We are dedicated to providing programs and activities to educate our members and the public about places and cultures outside their own. The Chicago GIS Network is born from the idea that the Chicago area is in need of a group which can bring together its GIS community.
